In response to a growing need, Allegrow! Music was founded on the principle that music is key to growth and development. "Allegro" is a musical term which means to play at a quick, lively tempo. When a "w" is added it creates "Allegrow," representing a steady growth through musical experiences. Current research supports that music promotes language development, coordination, understanding of abstract concepts, mathematical reasoning as well as enhancing self-esteem. Ginger Bennett founded Allegrow! Music which opened in 1999 offering Kindermusik® and music therapy services to the greater Atlanta area. Hurricane Katrina changed many lives, including Ginger's and her husband, John. After making several relief trips to the area, Ginger and John fell in love with the coast, the people and the rebuilding efforts. They made the decision to move to the Mississippi Coast to help rebuild the community. "Music can help restore the spirit of a community," says Ginger and that's just what she is here to do.
